OUR GROUP

The WineGB Wessex Association is run on a voluntary basis by a Committee elected from members at each Annual General Meeting (AGM). 

The Committee elects a Chair and the officers and determines the day-to-day direction of the Association, subject to policy decisions taken by the whole membership at the AGM.  The Committee organises meetings, tasting events for the trade and/or public and runs our annual wine competition. It also liaises with WineGB on a regular basis.

The aims of the Association include :

  • Sharing of knowledge of viticulture, winemaking and business information through forums and social events.

  • Promotion of regional wines through wine tourism.

  • To facilitate funding for development and marketing initiatives

  • Representing members at national level within WineGB.

We recently held a ‘Vineyard Floor Management’ conference in conjunction with Plumpton College and guest speakers. We hold an annual wine competition, actively represent the region during English Wine Week and hold social events throughout the year.
